Devotional (part 1)
Chances are you can pinpoint some difficulty in your relational life.
Maybe it’s a hurt from the past you can’t quite shake, the haunting memory of someone who never forgave you or whom you yourself have struggled to forgive. Maybe you have a friend or family member who routinely takes advantage of you, and you struggle with the courage to confront them and ask them to repent. Maybe your marriage is broken or your children are prodigals or your best friend is a jerk.
Whoever you are and wherever you are, you’re probably not living much of a relational life if you are not touched in some way by relational conflict.
Ever since the fall, our relationships have been a complex web of hurts, fears, worries, and slights.
Would it surprise you to know that the Holy Spirit was sent by God to help with all these kinds of brokenness?
When the Holy Spirit takes up residence in a sinner’s heart, He immediately begins renovating the place. It doesn’t matter where you placed the furniture before; He’s going to rearrange it into a home more suitable for Himself. And He’s going to start populating the place with new qualities and sharpened attributes. The Holy Spirit does not bear love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22–23) in us to focus those fruits on us.
Each of these important character qualities from God’s Spirit reach their fullness and most glorify God when they are exemplified in loving service to others. It is great, for instance, if you are generally peaceful. That is a gift from God. But it is better when being peaceful means you are able to forgo vengeance when someone wrongs you. Self-control is great for personal growth and devotion, but self-control hits its apex when it results in margin or abundance with which to share with others in need.
Do these stories sound familiar? .
David: not worthy to be counted a son, only good for tending sheep in the wild.
Gideon: least in his family, hiding away too timid to dare
Moses: run out of town for fear, hoping to live out his days unseen
Mary: poor and unwed, lowly village girl with no name to herself
Jesus: born in a barn, first 30years of his life hardly a story to tell.
They all knew what it meant to feel obscure, ordinary and insignificant but that was okay you see, because they trusted One who could make extraordinary out of ordinary.
There is no moment so small, He is too busy to notice you and no moment so big, He is at a loss what to do. No, in all of your moments, HE IS.
Even if you make your home in the remotest parts of the sea, there His eyes will still hover over you.
Just because you're in the middle of your darkest day, doesn't mean God can't see you. We all face suffering at some time in our lives. In the midst, let's rejoice that we know Christ. Let's move from self-preservation to a kingdom perspective.
Changing your mindset can be one of the hardest parts of breaking habits. But once you begin to master it, it will completely change the way you look at everything! The hard work in this area is worth the growth you'll begin to see in all areas of your life. God doesn't want you to stay stuck in hopelessness or despair....look to His promises and never choose to give up or deny hope for yourself, others or your situation!
I was on a plane and as I getting ready to make a connecting flight I was asked by the flight attendant to see my boarding pass. I realized I was on this plane without my boarding pass and had left my ticket at the terminal.
The flight attendant wouldn't let me get on the next flight without proof of my ticket. I felt frustrated that I had to go back and get it for proof when they let me on before.
I went back and found my ticket where I had left it. Delayed on time, I went back and showed my flight attendant, see I had my ticket all along, but I just forgot it.
See here's what I realized in this dream, often we're trying to prove/validate to others our calling, abilities, gifts or family.
When God calls, He validates; therefore, we don't need man's validation (or proof of our calling). The great thing is JESUS already has our seat and He's already calling us to our next plane or destination.
He's your ticket! Get on the right plane and don't confuse man's rejection as God's rejection.
1 Peter 5: 6-7 msg. "So be content with who you are, and don’t put on airs. God’s strong hand is on you; he’ll promote you at the right time. Live carefree before God; he is most careful. with you." . #Hewillvalidateyou#Heseesyou#preparingyou#destination#calling#godsperfecttiming#iamnumber8
I posted this on Facebook last night after I had "sat on it" all day and I feel led to share it here this morning. Have you ever heard the story about Anna in the Bible in Luke 2? Anna was a woman who had been widowed and she devoted herself to being in the temple hearing from God and speaking His words. She was a powerful #prophetess with a beautiful gift for #worship .
I strongly believe that God is raising up women with an #AnnaAnointing ; women who have #unshakablefaith ; who are #strong , even though they might not feel strong; and who are laser focused on Jesus. Women who have an Anna Anointing see who they are and all they do as a form of worship. They wait on the Lord expectantly and they hear from Him, and they cannot help but share what He tells them to share.
Modern-day Annas will live a life of #holyabandonment to the purposes of the Lord. They are tired of seeing our children die, violent and angry people terrorizing our world, people without hope, and people suffering. I believe that it is time for the women with the Anna anointing to #arise . To speak up and out. To sing, dance, write, and create. To love and serve.
No matter what you have experienced or are experiencing, I want to declare to you:
*On the other side of a #triumph , there is more.
*On the other side of a #failure , there is more.
*On the other side of a #mountain , there is more.
*On the other side of #heartache , there is more.
*On the other side of this earth, #thereissomuchmore .
#Nothinggetslost . NOTHING. If you feel unsure or unsteady, lost or overlooked, or you simply need to be reminded again, let me be the one to do that. #Heseesyou . He knows you - better than you could know yourself - and He waits with #openarms , available with anything you need. Let me assure you that you are adopted into the family of God and an #heir to an inheritance that is abundantly above anything you can think, ask, or imagine.
So here’s the challenge Annas. Live with expectancy. #Restandrevel in #Hispromises . Travel the path of obedience to God with your eyes wide open to #Hisfaithfulness . Make more room for others, make more space for God, and watch Him make more of your #dreams .
😄💖Allah is so REAL. He protected me. He has a mysterious way of doing things...He is so Masterful. I am so grateful to Allah(God) who came in the person of Master Fard Muhammad for revealing to me a truth I needed to know in order for me to truly move forward in my life. I am grateful that He intervened in my affairs and his intervention actually protected me from more pain...had He not intervened. Allah without doubt showed me exactly WHY He intervened and now that I know....I'd never want what I desired so much again. I will use this experience to increase my trust in Allah and never doubt Him again. He is looking out for me I know for sure..... This Sister right here... WINS👑
When you decide to open the pages of the physical Bible instead of using your phone and pictures, names, reminders and a love letter from my then boyfriend, now husband, falls into my lap. I haven’t even read one word yet and I feel His grace, power, gentleness and kindness ❤️ #theonetheonly#Heisreal#Heispresent#Heseesyou
Oh, what God has done at #imagine2018 ... I came with all these labels - not from others, but from myself - and I asked God to take it all, all the lies I've polluted my heart with and all the walls I've built, till all that is left is what He initially created me to be, at the core -
and oh, I could feel it. God broke me. He shattered it all, and to quote @officialtobymac "empty's never felt so full". And all I can think is -
I feel so light.
God has changed my life ever since I started going to #imagine (back in 2016), and I feel like I've only really started living these past three years...
How scary is that?
His presence is the most real thing I have ever and will ever experience in my life - and I can feel a stirring in my heart; I can feel that He has given me my fire back!
If there's one thing I want anyone to take from this post, if you've even ever bothered to read what sometimes takes me days to write, - take a breath after each sentence, please don't just scan over -
God loves you.
He loves you.
So recklessly, so violently... You are precious to Him, no matter where you are or what you've done in life.
You don't have to do anything to earn His love - He already gave it, on the cross.
And if your spirit is crushed, if you feel alone or empty or even perfectly fine, but you really have no clue why you're even here, know that He sees you.
He sees you.
And He wants to meet with you.
As for me, I will always have Hope!
I love that no one can take away the Love and Hope I've been blessed to enjoy. Don't get me wrong though, there are those who have tried and still do try! But God is so much bigger than anyone who thinks they can!! If you find yourself unloved, unlovable, hopeless or even the one who tries to steal other's hope... Just know God sees you, he loves you, right where you are at. But He doesn't want that to be your truth. You can find His peace, Love and Hope too.... You just need to be willing to receive it. You are worth it!💞 💯
“And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 8:38-39 NLT
(Taken in the train on #04042018 at 7.24 am. Love how the sun beams burst through!✨ #Heseesyou )
This guy had his pitching debut for his high school team this evening and he did great! He’s had a rough go of things lately, so to see him literally beaming, with his signature grin, as he ran to the dugout to the cheers of his teammates, had his sister and I both in tears. It was a special moment that had nothing to do with a game. The Lord sees each one us and will always meet us right where we’re at to fulfill our needs...tonight it was on a pitching mound (and metal bleachers). Thank You, Lord!!! #thelordwillfightforyou#heseesyou
I get the privilege and humbling honor to hear people's stories and walk with them through some hard places. Today I want to boldly remind you and the enemy who is the author of all lies that ... 💫You are deeply loved
💫 You are more than enough
💫 You are not alone
💫 You are chosen, claimed and secure
💫 You are a child of God
💫 You matter, your feelings matter and what has happened matters
💫 You have strength within you to shatter all lies and stories not of Him 💫 You.are. capable and deserving
You, my friend, yes you have the boundless, limitless, laser focused attention of a loving Father who sees you and is leading you out and onto a place you couldn't dream of or imagine ✨💕
“I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear; but now my eye sees You” (Job 42:5).
It’s one thing to hear and speak about God. It’s quite another to experience Him firsthand. In His Word, God repeatedly speaks about sight. He wants us to not only have head knowledge about Him; He wants us to have experiential knowledge of Him. He wants to be SEEN in our everyday lives.
Look up from your current circumstances. See beyond the chaos, the pain and the turmoil. He’s there! Look beyond what is happening in the natural! HE SEES YOU!
Let His vision for your life be the deciding factor in everything you say and do! Get with God and ask Him what His vision statement is for YOUR life. I know it includes plans—plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). We all like that verse, don’t we!? We must remember it was spoken to a people going into Babylonian captivity! He sees you! His vision for your life will carry you! They desperately needed a vision beyond what was right in front of them.
Ask God to give you His vision—without it, you’ll be blind throughout the rest of your life!
There’s something to be said for consistency. It’s easy to get discouraged in the mundane when I’m looking for recognition and attention from others. But if, like the sun and the spider, I do what I’m created to do, then in that God will be glorified. And isn’t that what I was created for? So keep on shining and spinning in your little corner of the world, friend. He sees you. Your day in and day out is not in vain. Choose to believe that if you’re doing what He’s called you to do and being who He’s created you to be, it DOES make a difference. He is El Roi, the God Who sees. You are loved. You are valued. You are seen.
Love the reality and rawness of the Psalms. In the midst of the writer’s season of pain and bitterness, he expressed it, but doesn’t get lost in it. Instead... * The Psalmist remembers his identity. “YET I STILL BELONG TO YOU...” Not lost, not abandoned...not disowned, forsaken, forgotten nor left behind. No matter what, he knows he belongs to a loving Father. * The Psalmist remembers God’s nearness. “You are holding my right hand.” No pain goes unseen, no prayer goes unheard. Even when the silence feels suffocating, we are held by the hand of God. He sees you, even when you can’t see Him. He hears you, even when you can’t hear him. He is near, even in bitterness and pain when you feel Him the least. * The Psalmist remembers who holds the future. “You will keep on guiding me...leading me to a glorious future.” There is a good future ahead. Hold on and don’t give up just because you can’t see the good that’s ahead from where you stand right now. “For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” (2 Corinthians 4:17-18) There is more happening than what we can see. * The Psalmist keeps his eyes on ONE ultimate prize. “I desire you more than anything on earth....As for me, how good it is to be near God...” * The Psalmist remembers the source of true strength. No matter what comes and goes...even in seasons of weakness and failure, God remains strong. HE is our strength. “My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart.” This morning my prayer is for all those who feel far away, unseen or forgotten by God. Don’t despair. He sees you, He loves you, and He is near. #oneyearbible#hope#strength#jesus#agloriousfuture#heseesyou
