I first learned about coconuts during my trip to fiji back in high school. Villagers told me that they think coconuts are a gift from god because they can use the whole coconut for different purposes. The water is very refreshing and provides great hydration. The meat can be eaten or can make coconut oil, coconut milk. The shell and husk can make handicrafts or can even burn for fuel. The trunk and leaves can make different things like brooms, baskets, containers, drums, and even houses.
Years later I am starting to appreciate coconut more because coconut water cures the worst hangovers and provides great hydration after a workout or hot summer day. I am also very interested in the amazing benefits of extra virgin coconut oil for the skin, mouth (oil pulling), and even for health and weight loss.
It’s my veg-iversary! 🌱 I’ve been a vegetarian for ⚡️SIX YEARS⚡️. In those six years, I’ve saved approximately 1,200 animals, in addition to copious amounts of water, CO2, plastic, packaging, gas, etc. 🐖🐓♻️ In going vegetarian, I learned a few things: Compassion, conscience, humility, love for others, food, nutrition and food science. I feel that it’s made me a better person, and given me a strong identity. I’ve met some incredible people with incredible passions and I’ve had some great teachers along the way (@laurayasminess @rawalignment ♥️). I know now one of my truths in life is I will never eat meat again. I have decided to take my diet to the next level with the removal of dairy, which I’ve been practicing for a while already: Veganism. Let the healing begin! 🌱😍
