“Aquietai-vos e sabei que eu sou Deus…”. Neste conhecido versículo do Salmo 46, leio dois mandamentos de igual importância. Em primeiro lugar, precisamos nos aquietar, algo contra o qual a vida moderna conspira. Neste mundo agitado e fervilhante, nem mesmo alguns momentos de quietude nos vêm naturalmente. E a quietude nos prepara para o segundo mandamento: “…sabei que eu sou Deus; sou exaltado entre as nações, sou exaltado na terra”. Em meio a um mundo que conspira para suprimir Deus, e não o exaltar, como garimpar tempo e permitir que Ele nutra minha vida interior?
A oração é um “hábito” que exercemos e envolve tudo o que existe. Ah, oração!… Um hábito que exige a nossa atenção. Aquietai-vos e sabei. O primeiro passo na oração é reconhecer ou “saber” que Deus é Deus. E, nessa atenção, nesse foco, tudo o mais entra em perspectiva. A oração nos permite admitir nossas falhas, fraquezas e limitações Àquele que responde à vulnerabilidade humana com infinita misericórdia.

Context: Several weeks ago we looked at Matthew 28:19, but I wanted to revisit this scripture and explore it further with the following verse (verse 20) included as well. These verses can be cross-referenced in the OLD TESTAMENT with Deuteronomy 31:7-9 and Joshua 1:1-9. The Gospel according to Matthew presents Jesus as Messiah. These are the final verses of this Gospel, which scholars qualify as ‘The Passion of the Messiah’. These powerful words recorded by Matthew are from Jesus Christ himself. In verse 20, we are reminded of the incredible, assuring promise that CHRIST IS ALWAYS WITH US. In verse 19, Jesus uses the phrase “make disciples”; the literal translation from Matthew’s original Greek writing, to English is: “μαθητεύσατε (mathēteusate)”. This call from Jesus was specifically intended, in scripture, for the eleven disciples that were with Him on the mountain in Galilee. As modern followers of Christ, this is a call we all need to take up as well! Application: As Christian athletes, it is our mission to make disciples, or, μαθητεύσατε (mathēteusate). Be EDUCATED about scripture so that teammates, coaches, and fans can rely on you when they have questions about your faith, or Christianity in general. ENCOURAGE non-believers to LEARN MORE ABOUT JESUS (you’d be surprised how many people are non-believers just because they have received false info about Christ in the past). And lastly, LIVE OUT the Gospel in your daily life - show people what a godly life LOOKS LIKE. A quick side note for clarification, an APOSTLE is someone who was an eye witness and direct follower of Jesus (all the guys who wrote the New Testament). A DISCIPLE is someone who lives to be more like their master. In our case, our master is also the Son of God and our LORD and SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST! Therefore, as Christians, we are disciples of Jesus. Getting back on track now: You never know if your next opportunity to share the Gospel with someone is the last opportunity that person will ever have to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Be on mission, be bold, and go out and make disciples in the name of Jesus! #Matthew28

When you get older, you naturally become more aware , more enlightened to the dark and ugly sides of life,of our society, of our government etc. along my journey ive been able to witness for myself things that i couldnt believe and cant unsee so as a singer/song writer all i long for is to voice not only mine but other peoples experiences and tragedies and mishaps and reach as many people as i can!
Though is only a rough copy of this song it already means sooo much to me and will most likely make a spot on one of my albums called “Born Into Decay”
