Different fitness goals require different periods of rest time between sets. Always time your breaks with a stopwatch or a timer.

For fat loss and muscular endurance, circuit workouts and metabolic conditioning with 30-60 seconds between exercises are great for maximum calorie burn. Programs like P90X and Insanity use these formats that keep you moving and keep your heart rate up.

For muscle size, 60-120 seconds rest between sets is a good guideline to follow for a typical format of 3-4 sets of 8-12 reps.

For strength gain, 3-5 minutes between sets is necessary in order to allow your muscles adequate recovery before attempting to lift heavy again on the next set. Studies have shown that when lifting between 50%-90% of your 1-rep max, 3-5 minutes rest produces the greatest increases in absolute strength, due to higher intensities and volume of training.⠀

С моей растяжкой всю жизнь была весёлая история: на шпагат я до сих пор не села (потому что ленивая жопа🤦🏻‍♀️😅), но всегда могла в динамике дотянуться до подбородка мужика ростом 180см 😆 когда я занималась карате, очень помогало) и всех удивляло, потому что  медленно я могла поднять ногу разве что до уровня пояса 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Being  in a caloric deficit is enough to lose weight, however losing only fat  is another story. At the end this makes all the difference between being  RIPPED and just being smaller.⠀

✅  Nutrition: decreasing caloric intake drastically would be a mistake.  Decrease it gradually & never go below 10x your bw in lbs. Then eat  at least 1 g of protein/lb of bw because your muscle mass needs it to  stay in place, which is even more true in a caloric deficit. When  calories & protein are taken care of, add a good balance of fats and  carbs to complete your daily calories. 25% of calories from fats &  the remaining calories from carbs is a good rule of thumb. You also need  micronutrients & fiber for good hormonal balance, which is why you  should always include fruits & veggies.⠀

✅  Training: it's what makes the biggest difference in maintaining muscle.  Your muscles have to understand that you need them to stay, which is  done by lifting heavy enough weights 2-3x/week. On a cut, lifting heavy (4-8 rep range) with lower volume is what works. Lifting lighter weights  for higher reps won't cut it because the stimulus is not intense enough  to preserve muscle. Compound exercises should account for 80% and  isolation for 20%. They're the only ones that allow you to maintain  muscular strength, which is what you should strive to do. If you can  increase strength for a while then all the better! Finally, add in some  HIIT gradually to accelerate fat loss & boost metabolism without  being catabolic.⠀

Strongman training is my favorite. I’m always my leanest and strongest when consistent. 409 lbs on the yoke walks not bad for first time. Trap bar farmers, overhead KB, sandbag bear hugs. Sweating like pig and feeling great. Strongman workouts are for everyone. They have tremendous carry over to sports, weight lifting and body composition goals. With the lack of eccentric loading it is pretty hard to get injured unless you do something dumb or load it too heavy. My strongman boot camps will involve this and much more. I'm still not a fan, but I only have it once more on the calendar I believe, so I shall overcome.
Today was actually better than last week, and I sweat a little bit, which is not typical for me. So, yay. Still don't care for the Gladiator move, but I did try harder to do it this time. For the burnout I did Up/Down Jab, Cross from #CDF, because I do not like the burnout at all. Considering doing a pyramid a`la Shaun T, from #T25 next time... If I remember. 
Oh, one last thing, I dawdled for awhile this morning because my back was sore and I was afraid, lol. But it ended up feeling really really good and, believe it or not, my back and shoulders are less sore now than when I woke up. #score .

IF has numerous benefits for health and weight loss, including but not exclusive to an easier caloric deficit, better hunger control, bigger meals, more energy, lower cholesterol, improved sleep and many others.⠀

In your typical fasting window (from 8 pm to 12 pm the next day), you're only allowed zero-calorie beverages, including water, sparkling water, black coffee, green tea and optionally peri-workout BCAAs (5g, zero-calorie).⠀
➖⠀
In your typical eating window (from 12 pm to 8 pm), you should hit your total daily caloric intake by eating mostly whole nutritious foods (80% of your calories for example) along with some treat (ice cream, chocolate, etc. for 20% of your calories).⠀

You will make the most of your calories and maximize satiety by eating 2-3 big meals in your eating window.⠀

Most common & practical way of doing IF is to skip breakfast and stop eating in the early evening.⠀ ➖⠀ IF has numerous benefits for health and weight loss, including but not exclusive to an easier caloric deficit, better hunger control, bigger meals, more energy, lower cholesterol, improved sleep and many others.⠀ ➖⠀ In your typical fasting window (from 8 pm to 12 pm the next day), you're only allowed zero-calorie beverages, including water, sparkling water, black coffee, green tea and optionally peri-workout BCAAs (5g, zero-calorie).⠀ ➖⠀ In your typical eating window (from 12 pm to 8 pm), you should hit your total daily caloric intake by eating mostly whole nutritious foods (80% of your calories for example) along with some treat (ice cream, chocolate, etc. for 20% of your calories).⠀ ➖⠀ You will make the most of your calories and maximize satiety by eating 2-3 big meals in your eating window.⠀ ➖⠀ If you are looking to lose fat, make sure you stay in a caloric deficit and you will get leaner by the day without even noticing.
