It’s Friday people 😁And it’s gonna be a hot weekend so here’s an ice cream review for you😃Ben&Jerry Chunky Monkey banana walnut chocolate flavor 🤓I was thinking this would be a strong creamy banana buttery ice cream with rich milk chocolate chunks and banana pieces and nutty buttery walnuts, but reality wasn’t that pretty 🤪There is a banana flavor throughout this tub! But it’s not that rich banana flavor that you get when you mix ripened bananas with clotted cream🙈it’s just a sweet banana.. walnuts are here! A lot of walnuts and I loved that! There are chocolate pieces and banana pieces, but all together they just somehow don’t seem to work as they could 😆Nothing amazing sadly.. I’m giving this a 6 out of 10😎The chocolate fudge brownie, salted caramel topped brownie, birthday cake, cinnamon bun, chocolate what-a-lotta, half baked and peanut butter cup are far better flavors 😃 #benandjerrys#chunkymonkey#bananaicecream#jäätelö#saldejums#iifymgirls#cheatday#foodreview#foodporn#junkfood#forkyeah#foodie#igfitness
Detroit Water Ice Mango and watermelon ice: Seeking a local treat, I found myself at Detroit Water Ice, a store specializing in flavored ice that falls somewhere between Italian ice and Icee. After sampling their intensely and unappetizingly sweet cinnamon horchata, I inquired about their least sweet options. With a Kiddie combo of watermelon and mango in hand, I left with a not-solid-sized cup of generally smooth shaved ice - soft but not watery, and fully saturated with fruit concentrate. Reminded me of otter pops in flavor, rather than fresh squeezed juice. I would probably love this as a kid, though. 3.0/5.0 #detroit#mango#watermelon#fruit#ice#shavedice#dessert#foodreview#instafood#snacks#foodstagram#tasty#snackreview#foodblogger#yummy#foodpic

takoyaki | 17.05.18
BH has been begging to have takoyaki since we got here 🗾 we tried a few different places but this place was really good, we tried their 4 variations and the best was the original 🤤 they have also been featured on the michelin guide for a few years in a row
Sang-Ji Fried Bao - Fried Bao & Wonton Soup - okay imagine soup dumplings... now imagine that as a fried bao.. yes you heard me. Dreams do come true 😜 swipe left and check out the soup inside that bao! The meat is so moist and juicy and the outside crispy and soft in all the right places. I wasn’t expecting so much soup inside this little bao but when I took a bite it squirted all over me and burned my lip! (I couldn’t help myself I didn’t wait for it to cool before taking a bite, rookie move - I know.. or maybe too greedy haha) they hit the table and bao #1 went directly into my mouth..or all over my shirt that is 😅 the wonton soup is nice too I love wontons so so much and these are satisfying even on a hot day! I can’t wait to take my mom here haha 5/5 noms #nomtheworld#nomnomnom#torontoeats#foodblogger#torontofood#torontolife#foodreview#bao#wonton#sangjifriedbao#tastetoronto#soupsniffles#hotday#tastethesix
Today I went to Gyudonya as tried one of their ricebowls as they are literally across the street from me and i see it being packed pretty often.
It seems like a no frills quick in and out type of donburi restaurant which is really similar to real japanese places for lunch in Tokyo.
The meat itself reminded me of @yoshinoya_america with its simplicity in flavor and clean taste. The meat wasn't too "soggy" as one would say and the rice was okay. It wasn't high quality japanese rice by all means just your regular stuff.
I was actually kind of hoping it would have bigger portions as the size you get for the price is a little bit on the smaller side compared to other similar places, but the quality is good.
I can see why people line up here for lunch. Simple good tasting doburi's at a price you can swallow.
I give this place a Ben score of: 7.1/10
This will run you about $10 for most bowls with the sashimi bowls being more, definitely on the lower end though.

So it's been about a year since I've eaten at @ramengojiro and actually they have a triple size Gojiro day event where if you can eat a triple sized ramen bowl including all the soup it's free!!! Should check them out!!!
The line up here is always long, at least 5 people out the door and it isn't because of the small space here. The foods seriously good. I've been on a ramen roll lately and this place differs because of two reasons.
1. The portion sizes are huuuuge
2. The soup literally tastes like pure flavor
The broth here is probably the tastiest ove ever had. I wouldn't say authentic but it definitely tastes out of this world.
Not much has changed over the last year and the quality and stood the test of time. My only gripe is that they overload on bean sprouts on the top and I literally got full on only bean sprouts before i got to the good stuff.
A solid Ben score of 7.9/10
$$ PRicing is midtier between $11-$17 with addons
It’s been a minute since I’ve had pasta from a restaurant. I’ve walked by this restaurant a few times and been really intrigued. The inside is beautiful so I was interested to try it out. I’m so thankful because they made their gnocchi bolognese into a vegetarian gnocchi with a whole bunch of veggies. Now, this gnocchi is made out of potatoes and ricotta cheese, so if you like a firmer pasta this might be a bit out of your comfort zone. That’s not to say I didn’t like it, I absolutely did.. but it wasn’t my favourite. However I’m so thankful for restaurants that are willing do work with people dietary restrictions. The other person I was with had spaghetti and said it was the best they’d ever had, so there’s that. -
Honestly, I was skeptical about the food quality when I saw the unappetising open displays, but other than my displeasure for lukewarm curries, my fears were unfounded!
The chilli chicken was of just the right level of spiciness, the generous portion of beef cubes were lean and chewy, and the gravy for the verrrry tender curry chicken was lap-it-all-up sedap!
The BBQ wings tasted better than most hawker stalls' equivalent offerings too! Less oily and not too charred.
Value For Money: 8/10
We only received over-the-counter service, but it was satisfactory. Nothing outstandingly good or bad. The BBQ wings took longer than expected to be done, though I didn't mind cos I was busy savouring my curries.
It's a strange thing to say for eateries like PappaRich, but methinks the serenity and gentle lighting make this branch suitable for date nights!
This is a great place to bring your date if you guys are craving for yummy budget food while having intimate conversations.
Mitzo Special Barbecue Pork $18
Sadly, their 拼盘 special is no longer available (more value for money)! Nonetheless, this char siew is worth ordering solo. Ate it 5x and I still think it's the best I've eaten ever!
Braised Lamb Shank with Enoki in Spicy Peanut Sauce $29
Smell-free tender meat in a unique yet savoury sauce!
Fried Rice with Ginger, Shrimp & Tobiko $22
Decided to order this over their "common" XO variation since it's a signature, and I wasn't disappointed! I don't particularly like ginger in my food, but its presence here was unintrusive and strangely refreshing!
Garden Deep Fried Dim Sum Platter $26
Cheese Escargot Puff
Truffle Seafood stuffed in Salted Egg Puff
Thousand Layer Radish Puff
I chose this platter over the "premium" one because of its unique ingredients, and was wowed over by how the fresh and piping hot fillings got me to rethink what Dim Sum can be like.
Aged Rice Wine Jelly served with Cherry Crush, Lychee Sorbet & Custard Cake Roll $18
Probably the most "traditional" item I ate next to the pork, its jelly was as smooth as can be!
Assorted Chinese Pastry Platter $12
Deep-fried Chocolate Liqeur Dumpling
Hokkiado Milk Cheese Tart
Mysterious Egg Pudding
Be it hot or cold, the tart tastes equally fantastic! Curiously, they served the hot one with an additional slice of lemon, and squeezing it into the tart resulted in what comes across as hot New York Cheesecake.
Value For Money: 9/10
The staff checked all the right boxes, even when there was an initial foul-up; my Dim Sum Platter order wasn't registered at first, to which they not only apologised profusely, but even served us the Jelly as complimentary desserts 😍
They also offered to de-bone the lamb shank and apportion the rice, providing value-added service!
Chic and fashionable decor amidst soft dancefloor music FTW!
It's my 6TH time here and I ain't stopping any time soon! Looking forward to trying their weekend brunch some day!
