I've been asked several times... If I was trying to get bigger ?
My answer is No, but I have been targeting Legs several times a week with Lifting, Sprints, Stairs, Bike riding, rope jumping, lite jogging, and burpees... in which those exercises do increase muscle density and burn fat at the same time, in return gives one the look of weight gains but in actuality I haven't gained no more than 3-7 pounds, but my clothes are getting a little snug. I guess that's a Great problem to have. Most "diets"that people follow are completely unsustainable, and a recipe to fall off the wagon.. If you are finding yourself constantly "cheating" on your diet, or plan.. or simply not making progress.. then it is more than likely time to re-evaluate your plan.
One of the biggest diets I hear that people start is a "no carb diet"
Now dont get me wrong, if this is truly what you love, if you feel amazing, and you are seeing results.. then have at it, and do your thing 💪 Most people do not understand that when you do a low carb diet, your protein and fats need to be much higher to be sure you are getting enough. Especially to make up for the lack of carbs....
The primary reason people do this is because of the BS myth that carbs are bad, and make you fat.. this is 100% UNTRUE. Just like the whole "Eating carbs at night will make you fat" myth..😂😂 when in fact, it is not eating at night that makes you fat, no matter what food it is, It is simply EATING MORE THAN YOUR BODY NEEDS that makes you fat.. lots of folks act on what they hear or what everyone else is doing...wayyy too often.. a carb free diet IS NOT for everyone.. especially if you find yourself constantly hungry, low on energy, and finding yourself binging after long term deprivation.. for most people the "long-term" only lasts a week or two.. and by the weekend you have given in to your cravings and have to "start-over" on Monday... this was me, i used to restrict restrict restrict, and wouldnt eat more than oatmeal and a little brown rice before 2pm... smh.. When you have a healthy lifestyle that includes a realistic and sustainable eating regimen, there is no starting over.. you simply eat according to your goals..
Find what works for you, and make sure it is making you happy while doing it. While u may have to sacrfice a bit, and have self control...You are not supposed to hate your journey or feel like crap constantly, life is way too short...
