🔦 What made you try Crossfit? After completing just weights for a couple of years, I felt I needed to work on my fitness to help with my other sport as well as the strength that I was already doing. After months of putting off trying CF and multiple conversations with my cousin Clint reassuring me that I could do it and I would be fine I finally joined and have been going for nearly 12 months now.
🔦 What impact has Crossfit had on your life? I feel fitter and stronger then I ever have and overall feel so much better for doing it.
🔦 What goals have you achieved since joining? I feel so much fitter and feel that it has changed me mentally to be able to push through where I once would have picked an easier option or stopped.
🔦 What goals are you still working on? Still working on building muscle to feel stronger and also reduce injury’s and trust that I can do things that I once couldn’t.
🔦 Favourite movement? Not sure so let’s just say lifting heavier than my husband lol 🔦 Favourite food? Everything love love love food that’s all I think about
🔦 Sock preference? Ankle
🔦 Advice for anyone starting? CF is for everyone and you can do it. Just try it I wish I had off listened to my cousin earlier as there isn’t anything that can’t be done no matter the reason the injury it can always be scaled back to suit and Trainers go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and still give you that gentle nudge we all need sometimes.

Egg Casserole with Sweet Potato, Butternut Squash and Sausage
1 tablespoon coconut oil
1 cup diced sweet potatoes (about 1 medium)
1 cup diced butternut squash
1 medium onion, halved and cut into thin slices
1 lb pork, turkey or chicken breakfast sausage
2 cups chopped fresh spinach
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Freshly ground pepper, to taste
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. 2. Melt the coconut oil on a baking sheet in the oven and remove baking pan and toss melted coconut oil with sweet potatoes, butternut squash and onion. Season with salt and pepper and place back in the oven to roast for about 20-25 minutes, or until squash and sweet potatoes are tender but not mushy. Stir mixture after 10 minutes and every 5 after that.
3. While that's roasting, heat a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat and add the sausage. 4. Cook until browned and no longer pink and then remove from skillet and place on a plate lined with paper towels.
5. Whisk eggs with salt, garlic powder and fresh black pepper.
6. Grease a 9x13 pan and place sweet potato mixture and sausage in it. Top with chopped spinach. Pour eggs over and gently stir to combine.
7. Bake at 400 for about 20-25 minutes or until eggs are set in the middle. Watch it and don't let it overcook!
8. Let cool and then slice into squares for serving and storage. .
#TBT Found this pic today from my first missions trip to Nicaragua in 2013. Notice I did not jump? I couldn't anymore after my abdomen surgery to remove a benign tumor two years before and a 14" long scar in my abdomen. I just could run or bike, but everything else includying jumping, pulled my guts into an exnruciable pain. It took me 5 years to start fighting some fears... until that day in 2016 my friend Dilia invited me to Crossfit and I sceptically, accepted. The rest is history. God is good. All the time. <3 #CrossfitMomma#CrossfitCommunity
Had such a blast in on-ramp and I learned so much! But this is just the beginning! Can’t wait to take what I’ve learned and use it in my daily workout- Being only 11 months into this new town I feel blessed to have found something I love to do and to have stumbled across this great community. I look forward to growing and suffering with you @ellensburg_crossfit
Great coaching and even greater support from your fellow athletes are some of the best tools to have in Crossfit.
