Hellraiser: Judgement (2018)
Gary J. Tunnicliffe
A killer is terrorizing the city and three detectives join together to figure out who or what is doing it.
A new “Hellraiser” film, a new disappointment. I love the first 3 film’s and always will. I’ve also seen the 4th, Revelations, and this one. Those were all not the best if not the worst cash grab’s. This did excite me once they announced a new film just like it does any fan of one of the original horror icon’s. I had actually heard decent and slightly good thing’s about this film and decided I’d grab it for $15. Still not having really any expectations, I sat and watched with a few buddies and we were all disappointed. What felt like it was shot by someone who shot all of “Breaking Benjamin” or “Three Days Grace” video’s in 2004, I couldn’t get into it. The storyline was awful, the acting was awful, only thing really great was the creepy giant Baby Doll Cenobite. This film offered very little to the franchise and was just another failed attempt at a horror film which has potential to be great. I’d skip this one but if you need to add to your collection, spend no more than $5 new.
I’d give this film a 1/10.
18 • 04 • 2018 ~ Such a sweet film. As the opening credits rolled and we saw scenes of rural french life it was like a wave of calm washed over me. Every shot has some sort of gag in it and they’re all hilariously timed and quaint. It did get a bit bogged down somewhere in the middle where François got drunk and did sillier things but it picked up pretty quickly again after that. I watched the original 1949 cut so I’m not sure what the other cuts add or remove, I suppose I’ll have to find out.
Happy 54th birthday to Andy Serkis! 🎉🎂🎉
