time to finally complete this, my largest work to date... WATER has been a powerful element in the narrative of African Americans... from the middle passage to the prohibited fountains, civil rights, Katrina and Flint.... it's in our hymns and our bodies... it sustains, purifies... and can be destructive. #blackartists#blackcreatives#blackart#365black
#STRANGEFRUIT "POLITICALLY CORRECT CHURCH" Part 2. I've been toiling on how to put into words the way I feel about this topic of "God and Country". There are tooooooo many to type, so I'll say this:
I've heard so many Christians demonize people for standing up for the justice of minorities and underserved communities and doing so in the name of God. I am a believer in Jesus Christ, His blood, Holy Spirit, and God MY Father. I believe we miss His heart when we exalt "country" or a flag over the lives of people He loves. If we say the flag represents freedom, it should do so for ALL people! Many have misrepresented His heart by either remaining silent in the face of injustice or speaking through bias quoting scriptures that are not rightly divided. GOD HATES RACISM! It's completely demonic! While everyone is not racist, some are racially and culturally ignorant. I believe we all are in some things. But don't put so much confidence in a flag while missing God's heart. I would have hate for you to have it draped over your shoulders as some type of prideful defense as you approach the Pearly Gates, only to find that you're having gate trouble. We are called to bare one another's burdens. It should break your heart to see injustice (that's only if you have the heart of Christ). All in Love!❤️
