2xu compression run, 8th april 2018 💪💪💪
Yayyy!! OUR first half marathon together!!!! 😍😍😍 My dad gave me a surprise visit! More surprisingly, he even joined me for the race! We ran together but he overtook me in the last km. This is a result of him running at 5.30 before working at 7.00am everyday. 👍👍👍 He went back after the run and looked after the patients at night.
Race 3/3 of our 2XU Compression Run took place this morning at Mushrif Park. What a stunning location! Today we say goodbye to the events’ season. Thank you all for joining us and congratulations to our super brand ambassadors @hyrylainen for winning the 10km female overall and @jadec_88 for winning the 10km first place in her age category. See you all next season! With ❤️, from the Sport In Life / 2XU team #2XU#2XUcompressionrun#GUenergy
RACE REPORT: Maintaining race face on the last 1k while leg cramps was pulling hard on that last stretch. First race of the year and definitely not the last. / Had a conversation with a friend about feels to race and sure no doubt I got really drained last year and lost all kinds of momentum to train and race. Did some reflection and made some adjustments along the way and took my runs on a less serious note. Leisure ones I should say. Got back a little of the feels and hope it stays for the rest of 2018.
100 Race Days.
a bit of self-indulgence on my part here but believe it or not this past weekend’s 2XU Compression Run 2018 marks my 100th official race day as an emcee! 😲
and whilst my apparel sizes have increased over the years so has my passion for taking the stage! 😆
feels like a lifetime ago when I helmed the mic for my first ever race in 2011; back then if you were to tell me that I'd hit this incredible landmark I'd ask you sod off :P
to many it might just be work but I am honestly and truly humbled by the trust and brilliant opportunities over the years from clients, brands, and event organizers.
always a pleasure to be on stage for race day no matter what the call time or lack of sleep... will never forget my night show days when my on air shift ended at 12am and race day call time was 230am!
if you've ever been to a race event you'll know what I mean when I say that there's something absolutely intoxicating in the air.
there's this indescribable electricity, some form of exhilarating power and invigorating energy that just pumps adrenaline into your veins; I can never get tired from hosting it (once the event is over though that's a different story #crash )
over the years I've truly learnt so much and experienced my fair bit of successes, disasters and all round magic; hosting a race isn't just about counting down, screaming go and announcing results. There's so much in between and a variety of unforeseen crises that threaten to mess up all the hard work by every party up to the point.
Here's to many more race days in the coming years!#2xucompressionrunsg#2xucompressionrun#2xusg#2xu
Got this piece of metal from yesterday’s race. What’s really worth is the bib worn from the race. It’s been thru the entire race soaked with perspiration, gel & energy juices stained on that piece of paper pinned to your chest. That’s the real piece of history I take home from every single race.
Belated post but a new HM PB from yesterday's #2xucompressionrun ! Many thanks to @morphperformance and the LSD & Faber repeats buddies! PB even with lower mileage? I have my self doubts too.. Oops =X But I guess this is a much needed confidence boost to continue with the programme on a more sure footing and to give it my best shot 💪🏼 .
Income Eco Run next! 🏃🏻 but before that.. More #elevation for breakfast.... 😂🗻
