25 CENTS A SLICE! This pizza store named Helen's in Jersey City thought of a more creative way to celebrate their 50th anniversary and Oh were they jammed packed!
The Newark Avenue pizzeria that was founded in 1968, (unfortunately not Kosher:) today offered slices to the public at 1968 prices making it 25 cents a slice!
The Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop and Councilman James Solomon were there to congratulate the pizzeria's second-generation owner, Steve Kalcanides, who was also accompanied by his mother, Irene, and wife, Maria.
It wasn't just the owner's family the Kalcanides, who were eager to celebrate the anniversary but the public jumped at the opportunity to buy 25-cent pizzas. Over 1,000 slices were sold throughout the day, said Steve
Gotta love my @kate.muncatchy She bought me this book for my birthday because the woman on the cover reminded her of me. I’m afraid to read it, it was printed in 1953 and originally published in 1947, I fear it will fall apart in my hands. But I’m going to read it anyways. Hahaha #25cent#pocketbook#mystery
