The yoga community in Shreveport runs deep and roots that were planted in VA (through the ashtanga community) brought me here for this very special evening. The art gallery / film studio Minicine? was the location for my first Druminyasa event west of the Mississippi and this unique space provided the backdrop for a powerful practice led by the amazing Monica Carlson @monicarae108. Thank you for inviting me into your community and to everyone that shared their practice and energy. This was the first live drumming yoga experience for everyone present and I’m truly blessed and honored to be in your tribe.
Thanks artist / founder David Nelson at Minicine? for capturing these moments and for sharing space. Also thanks to @breatheyogashreveport for your support.
A Greek-Australian duo, Xylouris White, performed at minicine Shreveport on 4.7.18 to an enthusiastic, large audience. The combination of traditional melodies both sung and played on the laouto and accompanied by jazzy and rock drumming mesmerized the audience. Opening was Twang Darkly. Paintings by Graham Mears were hung on the north wall.
