TBT: What is your favorite recipe your mother made for you? This one pictured on this tea towel is from Lisa Demaio's late mother. What beautiful handwriting she had! 🌸 For me, I remember waking my mother up from her short nap--she used to work nights when I was little--just to request her kidney bean dish. She responded with a warm smile and said, "Of course." That was the first dish I learned to make at 11 or 12 and when I had my first apartment, I recall buying the ingredients for that dish to put in my cupboards. She never wrote her recipes down because people from the old country, in my case, Lebanon, would do it all from memory. I want to pass this recipe onto my boys and to my nieces and nephews so I'm also going to ask my mother if she'll write it out for me in her handwriting, it will make it extra special. However, it might take some begging--I'll let you know how it goes! 😉
Sleepless nights turn into sunshine in the morning. Exhausted mama's heart melts. All is forgiven. 💞This mom story has been going on since the first baby was born. 📚Can anyone else relate? 📷: Misty Duncan. 🎨: Jacob Kozlow
You can take the people out of WNY but you can't take WNY out of the people. ⭐️This Jamestown native who lives in FL with his wife and daughter are showing off their Buffalo pride! 🙌 Thanks for sharing your amazing photos with us! ❤️
December is typically my busiest time of the year. Between life as a mom and a business owner that creates custom gifts, my world is pretty much consumed. Somehow I missed hearing about the loss of this man, Thapelo Hill. Though, I've never met him, I heard he was a beautiful soul. I know some of his family members back when my children were little and were homeschooled. He was the uncle of Asa, a precious boy who lost his life in a car accident about 9 years ago. ⭐️ .
The story: I received a call from @naomi_starks, who was pretty frustrated with the t-shirt printing service she was receiving. She explained her situation and hoped we could print her late brother's photo on the front of 5 t-shirts and the date of his birth on the back of them. When Lucy explained who the family was, I couldn't believe it. It was like Asa's passing was happening all over again. She was fighting back tears when she came to pick them up. ❤️I'm so glad we could help her and my deepest condolences to this beautiful family. 💕🙏 Thank you, Lucy, for sharing the photos!
Yes, I know, we'd all love a tropical vacation right about now but rest assured, at least some of us made it. 🌴This Buffalo Princess went to meet little Miss Freyja last month, all the way in Hawaii. 🌞Next time I'll ask the post office if I can go along for the ride! 😁Thanks @barbkacz77 for ordering our custom onesie for her! Hope Freyja and her family love it! ❤️
Just sitting and reflecting on this past Easter break. Blessed to have been surrounded with family. ❤️These two helped bring me into the world and shortly there after moved my 3 siblings and I to this country that we love. 🇺🇸Though it wasn't easy for them to leave their family and homeland 🇱🇧, they came here praying for more opportunities for work to support us 🙏 and dreamt of their children living the American dream. ⭐️ I'm thinking they're pretty happy with the way it all turned out. 👍
Anniversaries are pretty special but when they span half of a century, they deserve much celebrating! 🎉@scentwithjess78 in FL was asked by her cousin to make an Afghan for her aunt and uncle's 50th wedding anniversary. She reached out to us to print their wedding photos onto fabric. We received in the email 6 vintage photos that we cleaned up, resized, and then printed onto cotton fabric. 👌When she received the prints, here's what she wrote, "Marinette,
OMG they are beautiful. Thank you sooooooooo much!!!" 🥂Happy Anniversary to the happy couple, I can't wait to hear about their reaction! ❤️ Great job, Jessica, on the afghan! Thank you for trusting us with such a special project and for sharing your photos with us!! 👌
Did you get your Dyngus Day on yesterday Buffalo??? I'd love to know what you ate and where in the comments below!👇Thank you to little Rozalia's aunt, @nellamcd, for purchasing our Polish Princess t and her mom, @tattlerslanebridal, for sharing these pictures of her beautiful little one! ❤️
Buffalo, NY, how did you get your "Dyngus Day Capital of the World" status??? Regardless, everyone is Polish on April 2nd, even this Lebanese girl right here. 😉❤️🇵🇱You'll find these and a gazillion more to choose from @bay6buffaloclothingco! 😊
PASSING ON THE ❤️: No typos here. Great-grandma used to say it to grandmother when she was little. Now grandma wants to pass it on to her little one by putting those special words on a pillow for her. 📞Margaret asked us to put those tender sayings on a pillow making sure it matches her granddaughter's purple and green bedroom. We designed, printed, sewed, and shipped it to her home in FL. Knowing she's going to be 5 this year, I chose a simple typeface that she could easily read. How sweet is this pic?? I love participating in such sweet gifts! 💕
HELP US DECIDE: Hi Guys! I wanted to ask for your help! Not sure if you knew but I've been serving on the Advisory Board for WNY Invention Convention for about 6 or 7 years now. It's a juried event that invites kids from WNY in grades K-8 to solve problems and bring in their inventions to find who has the best invention around. 🏆 It's completely run by donations and volunteers and it takes a full year of planning to get each event off and running. The event is free and open to the public, stop by to see it in action on April 29th at the Science Museum. 🎖BUT FIRST, we want your feedback. Please vote in the comments to let us know which t-shirt color you like best. PLEASE ASK your children! We'd love to hear which ones they prefer. 😁To find out more about the event, go to link in profile. Also, checkout their Facebook page. Design by @jahoob_kazoo
You know that feeling when you reach for your #1 go-to tool and it doesn't work? Though, I'm not a coffee drinker, I imagine what I experienced last week was similar to those who can't function without their coffee in the morning and find the coffeemaker died. 😳Well, that was my experience last week. My computer of nearly my entire time doing this business decided to never work again. 😩😭😩After rushing it to the computer hospital it was confirmed I needed to purchase a new one. Most would love new toys but this was not a fun purchase because my computer is not a toy, it's my tool where I create, prepare, and design EVERYTHING that gets printed here. We still managed to get work done and over the weekend, took a much needed walk in the country with the family to decompress (swipe to see the beautiful photo). ☘️ Yesterday was my first full day using my new MAC and happy to report, all was well. I'll eventually get it all setup to where I'm comfortable with it. 👉What tool have you lost and had to replace? I'd love to hear how you managed through it. 😊
REFERRALS: We really appreciate the businesses and individuals who pass our name along to people needing custom t's and items. We have good working relationships with different screen printers around WNY because we compliment their services. Where they need to make screens we don't, which is why we don't have to require minimum orders. 🇺🇸This is how we met Juana Otero. She came to us pretty frustrated and running out of time. She needed 8 individually customized shirts, where no two were alike, in 1 week before leaving for graduation. We ordered colors/sizes she needed and printed them in time. 😊When we sent her the proofs, she wrote back that there were tears in her eyes. Proud mom and several family members were able to make it to her son's graduation from basic training for the US Marines with t-shirts in hand. I forgot to take pictures of the back of these blue shirts. They were customized with "mom", "sister", and "bonus dad."
When you're 6 and want to make sure your little brother eats a healthy diet while learning his abc's, well, you make an alphabet food chart, of course! This grandma is beaming with pride--can you blame her? ☺️💕 BACKGROUND: Joanne, grandmother to this creative and caring big sister, asked if we could help turn her granddaughter's poster into a pillow. I was more than happy to oblige! I photographed it, removed the scribbles and splotches that little brother made on it, my husband printed it, and then I sewed it. Grandma was thrilled! 💕
