My favorite building on the mall 😍 (I was here today to visit the collections share fair and have been hanging on to this picture for several weeks until a relevant time to post it i.e. today) (also don’t underestimate my ability to continue posting subtle blossom photos way past their prime)

The Arts and Industry Building opened in 1881 as the first United States National Museum. It was designed by Adolf Cluss and Paul Schulze in a symmetrical way, composed of a Green cross with a central rotunda with an iron truss roof. It is currently closed because of renovation. Today I was able to visit the building because of the interesting 2018 Collections Share Fair @smithsonian ! I really enjoyed being able to engage with this great #architecture in #washingtondc #collections #collaboration #artsandindustriesbuilding #smithsonian
